Understanding Aspergillus

Infection caused by the mould fungi Aspergillus is a major cause of illness in individuals with CGD. We have supported work into the genes that control the virulence of Aspergillus in models of CGD so that novel ways to treat Aspergillus infections can be developed. This year we will also be funding a Ph.D. Research Studentship that will continue this important programme of research.

The Trust also sponsors the Aspergillus website that provides essential information on Aspergillus infections and gives patients the up to date news of antifungal treatments.
